Vowels and all that jazz!
In this episode, we discussed the importance of singing pure vowels and how it can enhance your vocal performance. We looked at what pure vowels are and how they are the vessel that carries your voice. We also talked about the problem with diphthongs and how to recognise the difference between these and pure vowels - the primary colours of your singing. We then explored different tips and techniques, including jaw release, 'pistol fingers' and a bit about the tongue. As promised, here is what the pure vowels look like in phonetic (written) form: i - sounds like "me" e - like the French word "été" a - sounds like "ah" o - sounds like "awe" u - sounds like "boo" For a deeper dive on my mini course on pure vowels, check out https://www.voice-move.com/offers/iCrnVoW2/checkout or the website www.voice-move.com. Oh, and in case you want to check out an MRI scan of the tongue while speaking, here's one to try! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n4Y4EQaw5oU
